Tammy Wallace spent summers with her mom in Indiana. Her mom was energetic and driven, refusing to conform to any limitations as she fought her way into the male-dominated manufactured housing business.
From her, Tammy learned how to compete for what she wanted, and what she wanted was to succeed in business. She took a job with AmSouth Bank and resolved to learn everything there was to know.
Over the next 30 years, Tammy was promoted to account executive, then mortgage loan originator, then sales manager, then regional vice president, at some of the most well-known institutions in mortgage banking—Credit Suisse, Bank of America, Stearns Lending, Cardinal Financial. She learned every aspect of the industry, and gained invaluable experience building teams and implementing new technologies.
Her approach to her business mirrors her upbringing: Treat people fairly, be direct, meet challenges head-on.
Tammy believes what’s beneficial for clients is ultimately good for business too. The mortgage industry had not been keeping up with other industries and utilizing new technologies to make things faster and easier.
Over the last decade, she saw how large lenders had gotten mired down in red tape, needless paperwork and antiquated technology. And how one-on-one client communication had been overtaken by answering services and chatbots.
And she noticed nobody was talking about what was best for borrowers.
Tammy values person-to-person communication above all things. She was always thinking of ways to reduce friction while the paperwork seemed to be growing exponentially.
One afternoon, as she worked through a frustration with the burdensome process, Tammy made a promise to herself that she would go forth and create the collaborative, stress-free environment she envisioned for her clients.
Tammy immediately began designing a truly wonderful mortgage experience.
Most lenders only have a few loan products to offer, so they don’t mention just how many mortgage options are actually available on the market. But every homebuyer’s situation is unique, and one-size-fits-all is rarely the best choice.
Tammy’s approach draws on her long relationships with the nation’s largest lenders, while also taking advantage of the many specialty products offered by boutique lenders.
